DIY: Dresser Retro Re Vamp

I have had this dresser since I was 16 years old and have collected quite a few stickers over time. Its a strong wooden piece that still works great. But Ive slowly been redecorating my house 50's -60's style and this dresser is not working.  Its officially time for a revamp!!

First I peeled off all the stickers using a razor blade to try to get off all the sticky residue and paper. Not all came off, so used rubbing alcohol to clean off the rest. Some how there was still some left over residue so I sanded away the last little bit.

Next I had to saw off the modern square peg legs as close to flush as possible. And now for my favorite part, I added unfinished round tapered peg legs from Home Depot using heavy duty brackets. The brackets allowed you to place the legs straight up and down or at a nice angle. I chose to do the angled position to help stready the dresser when the drawers are open.

Last gave it a fresh two coats of black semi gloss paint and let dry.
Its like having a brand new retro dresser!!
